先后主持國家攻關、國家自然科學基金、農業部跨世紀人才項目、省部級重點科技項目20多項,先后發表論文200多篇,其中SCI收錄論文80多篇。
1984 年開始,在國內首先系統地研究了多效唑對蘋果和桃樹生長結果的效應及其作用機理,提出了多效唑的應用技術。該技術使果樹適期結果,變低產為高產,簡便易行,經濟效益顯著。該項技術 1990年列入國家科技成果重點推廣計劃,主要技術達到國際先進水平。在田間和實驗室進行多年測試的基礎上,組織了有北京、遼寧、河北等省市有關單位參加的協作網,建立示范園, 1989 1991 年示范推廣面積 91 . 35 萬畝,增加經濟效益 4 . 98 億元。1990年,獲北京市科技進步一等獎,1992年,獲國家科技進步二等獎。以后又組織該成果的進一步推廣,也取得較大的成績,1995年獲國家教委科技進步3等獎。
1997-2002
年,先后主持獲參與主持完成了 “北京安利隆生態農業科技園區”、“北京青龍湖農業科技園區”、 “寧波慈溪國家農業科技園區”、“哈爾濱國家農業科技園區(示范區)”、“深圳9+2工程:農業科技片區(公明)”等的策劃、設計和規劃。
2001
年以來,主持了中國農業大學葡萄與葡萄酒工程學科的籌建和建設,成立了中國農業大學葡萄酒科技發展中心,任中心主任。中心成立以來,先后研發了“學院派”干紅、干白葡萄酒,冰葡萄酒,并在新疆和碩縣建立分中心,研發了合碩特酒莊葡萄酒。2014年和2015年,學院派紅葡萄酒和合碩特酒莊干紅葡萄酒獲得了國際葡萄與葡萄酒組織(OIV)監管的最大和最權威葡萄酒大賽,也是世界三大葡萄酒大賽之一的柏林葡萄酒大獎賽上獲四個金獎。2011年學院派干白葡萄酒,2012年合碩特酒莊干紅葡萄酒獲得了2014年和2015年世界三大葡萄酒大賽布魯塞爾葡萄酒大獎賽2個銀獎,2011年合碩特酒莊干紅葡萄酒和2012年學院派干紅葡萄酒獲得了亞洲最大葡萄酒大賽韓國亞洲葡萄酒大賽2個金獎。大大促進了區域葡萄酒產業的發展和我校葡萄與葡萄酒工程學科的發展。
2002
年以來,先后主持的與葡萄和葡萄酒工程學科有關的國家和省市科研課題10余項。在葡萄弱光生理、葡萄逆境生理、水楊酸信號轉導、冰酒新產品開發和酚類物質研究、葡萄酒產業規劃上取得了一定成果。主持完成的“威代爾冰葡萄酒生產技術及其酚類物質研究。2005年通過教育部科技成果鑒定,總體達到國際先進水平,其中冰酒酚類物質識別系統尚未見國內外報道;主持規劃完成的”北京延慶酒莊葡萄酒產業帶發展規劃”,2006年通過了北京市科委組織的專家論證,促進了北京葡萄酒產業發展;2007年,“中國葡萄酒酚類物質研究” 通過教育部科技成果鑒定,總體達到國際先進水平。

獲北京市科技進步1等獎二次(1990,1995),獲國家科技進步2等獎一次(1992),國家教委科技進步3等獎一次。1990年獲農業部全國農業科技成果推廣年活動先進個人,1995年獲農業部、中國農學會中國農業青年科技獎。2011年,中華農業科技獎:優秀創新團隊獎:非熱力加工與技術創新團隊(第三完成人)
